John E. Jenrette, MD, brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare delivery and management to his role leading Cedars-Sinai’s growing network of primary care and specialty physicians. Recognized nationally as a leading physician-executive, Dr. Jenrette focuses on innovative, patient-centered, provider-led delivery models that effectively address patient desires for accessible, high-quality care.
Before joining Cedars-Sinai in 2016, Dr. Jenrette led San Diego-based Sharp Healthcare’s physician organization. He was responsible for the overall direction of the Sharp Community Medical Group Managed Services Organization, and developed a countywide network of physicians under multiple payer contracts that maintained a high level of profitability.
Dr. Jenrette earned his bachelor’s degree in microbiology at Ohio State University, and his medical degree at The Ohio State University School of Medicine. Following a family medicine residency at the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, he completed a family medicine geriatric fellowship at the East Carolina University School of Medicine. He began his management career as program director of the Family Practice Residency at the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, where he also served on the academic faculty.
