Maternal-Fetal Care Unit
If you encounter problems during pregnancy that could affect your health or your baby’s wellbeing, you may be referred to our Maternal-Fetal Care Unit (MFCU). This 16-bed unit was designed for pregnant women who need extended care or must be hospitalized until delivery.
The rooms in the Maternal-Fetal Care Unit are comfortable, private and equipped with monitors overseen by nurses in a central viewing area, which ensures the highest level of safety for mother and baby. If an emergency delivery is necessary, the Labor and Delivery area is right down the hall.
This unit is staffed by a team of compassionate, specially trained high-risk nurses who are sensitive to your individual concerns and needs. Maternal-fetal medicine doctors will work together with your obstetrician, and a specialist is available 24 hours a day.
